백유나는 강원도 출신으로 해양학을 공부한 뒤 북극권과 남극 대륙을 오가며 극지 야생동물을 기록해온 사진가이다. 영하 삼십 도를 넘나드는 혹한 속에서도 얼음 위에서 몇 시간씩 움직이지 않고 기다리는 방식으로 촬영하며, 부빙과 눈보라 속 동물들의 생존 순간을 담아낸다. 극한의 환경에서도 차분하고 다정한 시선을 잃지 않는 구도가 그녀 작업의 특징이다.
